Is Your Self-Esteem In The Dump? 10 Tips To Turn On Your Soul-Sparklers!

There are days for all of us when we feel dull and depressed. We find a million and one reasons for what’s wrong with us and it’s easy to be overcome by a bout of low self-esteem.

The other day, I had a session with a lovely, attractive lady short of her fortieth birthday. It was after a break-up from a relationship, which she had hoped, would lead to marital bliss. She felt like a failure and that her chances to attract a suitable mate were over. Her usually radiant self was very dulled down and I could see how her fears could turn into a vicious circle and a self-fulfilling prophecy.

It was obvious that she didn’t have control over changing her physical age or the timing of the break-up.  The thing she did have power over was her attitude and the ability to reconnect to her soul.
Spirits’ advice to her was:

Turn on your soul-sparklers!

Here are 10 tips how to turn on yours:

1. Listen to music that inspires your soul and dance in the comfort of your living room. Don’t hold back! Remember who you are beyond your current circumstances.

2. When is the last time you’ve had a chat with your soul? Meditate or write in a journal and figure out your next internal and external steps in life!

3. Let go of a grudge, or two or twenty! Negative emotions tend to block our soul light, if you are feeling a bit low it might be time to unburden yourself.

4. Consider a makeover! When you look in the mirror, do you see yourself reflected as a soul? If the answer is no, it may be time for a makeover. This can include everything from a new hair cut to a detox program, a new exercise regimen or a change in your wardrobe. Be creative here! Sometimes we just lose ourselves in the demands of life! It is time to reclaim you.

5. What is your soul craving? Make sure you make room for your own needs in your life! That will make you a better friend, parent, boss, employee and partner. Small steps are better than none.

6. Do you have a spiritual practice? If you do, is it still working for you? Some form of spiritual practice in our daily life is essential to make our soul sparkle!

7. Spend time with people that see you and that encourage you to be your best self!

8.Avoid people that bring you down and that project their own needs or negativity onto you.

9. Learn to have strong “Yes” and a strong “No”! Defining clearly what we want and don’t want in life helps us to create the life we want. And that will build a strong foundation to make our soul‘s sparkle!

10. Allow yourself to be the best version of yourself and stop fretting over everything that you are not! Your uniqueness is loveable and finding that authentic frequency fearlessly will polish your aura. You won’t fit everyone’s taste but your flavor will be perfect for right people.

And add on to these suggestions! There are an infinite amount of ways we can inspire our soul’s to shine and the more you shine the less you will feel a lack within yourself.

Does This Ego Make Me Look Fat?

As you might have noticed, you can’t buy an insurance policy for the ego!
Quite the opposite is true, if you observe life carefully, especially through the wide camera angle that spans over several lives, you will see that the universal, divine teacher is a great leveler and every ego ultimately will be cut down a few sizes. Ouch, it’s not a lot of fun when one is put overnight on a zero calorie ego diet, especially, if you have allowed yourself to pack on the pounds for a few centuries!

And trust me, I speak from experience here. And yes, of course the indulgences were a whole lot of fun. Who doesn’t enjoy to boss around an army of servants, be the belle of the ball, be the richest man in the country, make their opponents weak in the knees just thinking of you and your genius brain or save a hundred orphans single handedly out of a burning building?
Ah yes, these were the good old days when the world was perfectly alright and every cheer and compliment, every medal, every jealous side look glance went straight to the ego’s midsection before it turned into a gigantic triple chin. Yes, that’s right, I made it all about myself and walked around like my S**t doesn’t stink, and felt utterly superior to the average mortals.

Well, as I said, it was extremely great fun while it lasted. But the karmic wheel has no mercy and it just keeps going ‘round and ‘round and propelled me into a bounty of lives of service and utter humiliation. At first, outraged “don’t they know who I am?” then shocked and stuck in a giant pity-party “poor me, I don’t want to live anymore, give me another whiskey!” to “I am not worthy, I can’t believe how much I messed up” until I ended up in my current predicament “I get it, what do I need to do? Fine, I will cooperate.”

So there we are a few thousand years later. One thing I know for sure, I do not wish to repeat this cycle. Therefore, I keep asking myself: “Does this ego make me look fat?” If I feel the slightest twinge, I voluntarily go on an ego diet instead of waiting for the divine leveler to enforce one.
So, if you have come to the conclusion that your ego is currently a few pounds too heavy, consider an ego diet.

Here are a few tips:

1. Put others first!
2. Let go of ego expectations and count your blessings instead!
3. Commit random acts of kindness and don’t wait for a return!
4. Do charitable act anonymously!
5. Catch yourself in egotistical thinking patterns and reframe them.
6. Hang out with people you consider inferior and figure out what they can teach you.
7. Join a class or do something that is new or hard for you. While doing so, work on finding an attitude of humor, curiosity and surrender.
8. If you tend to make fun of others, learn to make the jokes about yourself.
What you are not funny yet? Well, practice, you are to the rest of the world!

Once you get the hang of the ego diet, it is actually a lot of fun because big egos are pretty cumbersome to navigate around the planet and for enlightenment purposes our ego does have to fit through the eye of a needle.
On that note, I will go back to my diet!!!

The Problem With Chronic Soul-Guilt!

Guilt is a tricky emotion. In my work I have found it to be possibly the most difficult one to deal with, especially in the context of clearing past-lives.

Why?
Well, there are a number of reasons. But let’s first, explore the positive side of guilt.
We are here to learn. In order to learn and to make well- informed choices, we need feedback from our environment. If I go out of my way to harm someone with my behavior, I ultimately want to be affected by witnessing the consequences and that often time happens through a healthy dose of guilt. In that sense, guilt is a great teacher. Best-case scenario, I offend, feel guilty, make amends, learn my lesson and change my behavior for all future occurrences.  As soon as I get the lesson, the guilt vanishes because there is really no reason to hang onto it. Its job is done!

As we all know though, there are circumstances, even in this lifetime, where it proves a little harder to forgive yourself. At times, we file certain situations as unforgivable and we feel like the damage that was done is beyond repair and even though, we have learned our lesson and wouldn’t repeat the mistake, we hang on to the guilt indefinitely. In the beginning, it’s a sore spot, but the more chronic it becomes, the more it fades into the background because its color permeates the whole landscape of your life. Next thing you know, things are not working out for you quite as smoothly. You are up for a sports scholarship but injure your knee. The love of your life leaves you, or maybe you just can’t get pregnant. In your mind, you wouldn’t necessarily put the two situations side by side because you don’t realize the influence your co-creative power has via your guilt channel.

Some guilt is even sneakier; it is the guilt of the survivor, the winner or the favorite sibling. You might feel bad that your popularity or good fortune is hurting someone else and start blocking your own good karma in order to minimize the impact.
I have found that nicer, more conscientious souls/people tend to more readily suffer from this condition.
Add some past-life guilt to that for the time you got pregnant out of wedlock (which you believed was going to transport you straight to hell) or fall in love with your brother’s wife and you have created the perfect storm. And that doesn’t even remotely start to touch the surface of the guilt for the lives where people were killed or huge crimes were committed by your will or your own hands.
As an old soul, I can guarantee you that you have participated in events and have experienced situations that you are not proud of.  If you haven’t reached enlightenment yet and there are areas in your life that you haven’t been able to heal despite all of your efforts, there is a good chance that you are suffering from chronic guilt.

Chronic soul guilt can be invisible. You might not even feel a twinge in your emotional body. Whereas fear and sadness from past-lives make it to the surface much quicker because we feel that we deserve to heal from them, the guilt that is labeled unforgivable is not making itself known because you don’t feel like you deserve to be set free from it. That’s when it turns into a vicious circle. It will block every coach, every remedy, every doctor and every spiritual practice you seek out for help, until you clear it!
(Also, read post “Learn To detect Undercurrents”)
My suggestion for anyone pursuing the path of self-healing and soul-evolution, work on clearing guilt and forgive yourself even if you believe there is nothing to clear.

How do you do that?

Here are a few tips:
1. Reframe your perception. We are all here to learn and therefore, are students of life.
We switch up the roles of victim and violator in order to evolve. Certain frequencies can only be learned in this force field of shadows and light. I.e. forgiveness can only be experienced if something went “wrong”. Who needs unconditionality if the conditions are light on light and love on love where everything is perfect?
So, in the big picture, it is always about learning and accepting the classrooms that we have been part of.

2. In prayer and meditation, send out apology emails to all the souls you have ever hurt and pray for their healing as well as forgive all the souls that have ever hurt you.

3. Get some flower essences for forgiveness.

4. Practice self-forgiveness meditation. One way you can practice that is to sit in front of a mirror and look directly into your eyes (this is also called soul gazing).
It helps to do this with soft light and to place a candle in front of you. Then repeat either out loud or telepathically: “I forgive you. You deserve forgiveness. I accept you and love you in every aspect of your being.” (Feel free to change the wording a bit to tailor it to your situation)
Practice for forty days, every day. If you miss a day, start by counting at day one again.

5. Seek out a professional to assist you, especially if you have memories of a situation that you don’t know how to reframe, or someone who is capable of filling in the blanks and help to release trapped energy.

6. Check for spots where your ego gets stuck. Most long-term guilt trips have a strong ego component to them. We feel that we should have done/known better and we stubbornly ignore our lesson and responsibility within the karmic set-up.

As always, add your own tools to the list of suggestions and remember, when you feel stuck and things are not moving, do consider chronic soul-guilt as the potential reason for your struggles!
